Job Purpose

The successful candidate will manage the creation and codification of new Master Data according to market related standards and templates, regularly cleanse existing Master Data to maintain integrity of ontology and to ensure relevance to market related standards as well as to drive the use of Master Data for purchasing as an enabler to support Group Procurement strategy.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains Master Data on an on-going basis to support the Purchasing Function in accordance with the Group Procurement Strategy i.e. ensures no duplicates and no remapped MIDs exist in an active state for more than 2 weeks.
• Develops, implements and maintains a standardized/structured naming convention for Master Data that conforms to industry best practices and market related standards. This will require engagement with SMEs as well as extensive commodity-based research.
• Manages the creation of new MIDs and requests for corrections to existing MID’s (within agreed SLAs) from Category Leads and/or Operations to the Group Catalogue in accordance with agreed structured formats for naming. This includes the understanding & application of classifications/grouping within the Group Catalogue and the management & correction of Master Data related parameters.
• Enhances Master Data clarity and integrity through effective & efficient service delivery and resolution of issues affecting realization of the overall Procurement Strategy.
• Carries out Change Management activities with all stakeholders and end users on the addition of MIDs and SIDs as well as the roll of the new Master Data Management Systems i.e. Online MID Application System.
• Develops & implements strategy to improve Master Data maintenance & cleansing.
• Provides adhoc training to all end users on the use and search functionality of the Group Catalogue & related screens.
• Ensures the Master Data Management (MDM) processes are in place and are optimized. • Identifies potential for Master Data creation from the analysis of direct spend in collaboration with Category Leads/Operations e.g. Off Crop Direct Spend Analysis
• Ensures the timeous capture/uploading of Transport Rate Factors, whilst spot checking for duplications & invalid estimates
• Develops & maintains weekly reports on pending MID applications – to be shared with Group Inventory team; this includes the creation of new MIDs from applications received manually and via the Online MID Application System

Job Qualification and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or any other related field.
• 3 years experience in  Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large volumes of data.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Inventory Technology Systems.
• Working experience on SAP will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of engineering equipment and spares.

Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Fixed Term Contract of 2 years.

Job Purpose
To operate and monitor process units including Mixed Juice handling, Juice heating (screened and clarified juice heating), Clarification, Filtration and Evaporation. Ensuring set target parameters for each unit is achieved as per shift KPI. Back-end maintenance during breakdown and off crop.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors the performance of the plant units i.e., juice heating, clarification, filtration, and evaporation on a continual shift basis using the DCS system to achieve the target parameters as per KPI.
  • Monitor key parameters example juice temperature, clear juice pH, syrup brix, pol % filter cake, pressure, and vacuum settings in real time and take appropriate & timely action to
  • Adheres to safety procedures, maintains the control room housekeeping, quality and environmental standards.
  • Records production data and any other required information on appropriate log sheet and logbook with the assistance of the site operators/attendants.
  • Trains, as required, plant personnel on the Control Room operation.
  • Takes on the role of a safety watch during plant shutdowns after hours to ensure that personnel (especially contractors) adhere to the company’s safety standards.
  • To operate the evaporator station and produce syrup of brix of between 63+ 69% which minimizing sucrose inversion and colour formation.
  • Together with site operator/attendant should ensure preparation of lime and flocculant is done as per SOPs.
  • Monitor and regulate mud belt filters operation and achieve target parameters i.e., flow of mud to filters, speed of filter, dosing rate of lime and flocculant, filtrate pH as per SO.
  • Ensure proper handing over at the end of his/her shift according to the handing over procedures.
  • Manages and delegates actions site Operators/Attendants to ensure optimal operation of plant units.
Job Qualification and Experience
  • Diploma in Process/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • A-Level Secondary Education with credits in Mathematics and Science subjects
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in sugar industry.
  • Exposure to production environment, Operational experience in a factory, preferably a sugar factory.
  • Basic training of industrial safety/ Ability to identify hazards and assess associated risks at mill operations.
  • Experience with operating a DCS system.

Terms Of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible to operate the feed table station and carry out maintenance during scheduled stop, breakdown and off crop.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carries out maintenance and repair of all cane table station and general parts, attend all breakdowns of machines and machine parts during crushing season.
  • Operates cane table station according to the procedure.
  • Physical checkup that there is no abnormality on the machines during operation.
  • Ensure communication with relevant stakeholders during operation.
  • Ensure cane crush target and DRD is achieved as per plan.
  • Ensures safety of people and machines by ensuring that all set lockout procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensures effective communication on all matters arising by reporting all problems immediately to the relevant authorities.
  • Check and communicate machine condition and safety before starting up including cane tables, feeder drum, cane kickers.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by relevant authority

Job Requirements:
  • Form four (IV) certificate accompanied by TTCG in fitter mechanics from a recognized Institution.
  • Experience in plant machinery maintenance and repairs.
  • A minimum of Three (3) years' work experience in a manufacturing industry.
